The Mabank ISD Education Foundation understands the role educators play in the education of students in our district. To support these hard-working educators in this role, the MISDEF offers a number of programs. From financing Innovative Teaching/Education Grants to appreciation and recognition, the MISDEF strives to give support where it is most needed.

Grants, Recognition, & Appreciation

• Innovative Teaching / Education Grants

The MISDEF offers a grant program to provide financial support for innovative, enriching educational ideas and programs. The Innovative Grant Portal opens each October, and recipients are announced during the mid-year convocation in January. Almost one-half million dollars has been awarded to date.

• New Teacher Recognition

The MISDEF recognizes how challenging that first year can be for educators, especially setting up a new classroom. To help offset some of those costs, the MISDEF awards gift cards to new teachers in Mabank ISD.

• Monthly Appreciation Programs

The MISDEF partners with sponsors to provide a breakfast meet-and-greet each month. Foundation members, along with breakfast sponsors, pick a different campus or department each month and provide breakfast and welcome staff and students. The MISDEF also hosts monthly giveaways and drawings to show appreciation to educators.

• Top 20 Educators of Influence

The MISDEF hosts a dinner each spring to recognize educators who have made an impact on our students. These Educators of Influence are selected by the Top 20 graduates each year. Graduates choose an educator from any campus, any position, to recognize as an educator of influence. The educator is presented with a framed, personalized note from the student.

• Personnel of The Year

Each spring Mabank ISD recognizes individuals who have excelled in their particular roles: teacher of the year, paraprofessionals of the year and auxiliary persons of the year. These individuals will be recognized at the annual employee banquet and will be presented with a gift card from the MISDEF.
